The pandemic has created a great deal of uncertainty and it has been especially challenging for a small group of volunteers to operate the hall.

The guidance to operate the hall has been revised no less than 10 times, which a sub committee has reviewed and introduced special hire conditions, undertaken risk assessments, liaising with users, undertaken a suite of checks, installed one-way systems and sanitisation stations to ensure hall users are COVID safe.  Overall, we estimate this has taken over 50 hours of work!

Not wanting to rest on our laurels, the committee has examined ways to protect the hall’s finances, resulting in it launching Copythorne’s first lottery scheme and successfully applying for grants.

We very much look forward to welcoming you back in May and June as restrictions are lifted but in line with government regulations normal service will not resume before 19 July.
